capture Your wedding day on film

If an image can say more than a thousand words
a film can narrate an entire story.

Divider1.jpg

Imagine, you are sitting down with your grandchildren to enjoy a family meal, sometime far away into the future.

Imagine how life might look like in forty years. You are having a sleepover with your beloved grandkids and almost at the end of the dinneron, one of them look at you with big eyes and ask you: “What’s love?“. You are a little taken back by the upfront question, and maybe you look at each other with a smile, thinking on how to answer. Maybe something about “It’s when two people like each other very, very much and decides to live together through everything.“ But you know that no words can explain love simply enough for a child to grasp it. Suddenly one of you answers: “After dinner, we’ll show you.

When the dishes are put away you all gather in your living room to sit down in your big, comfy couch. You might lit a fire or some candles, and then, you click “play”. Musik fills the room and on the screen appears a (much) younger version of yourselves. For the next twenty minutes, maybe half an hour, you relive the biggest moment of your lives, the moment you decided to commit and show the world how much you love each other. One of you reaches out and somehow you find yourself holding hands. When the screen fades to black you look at your grandchildren. “That - this - is love“. Probably you’ll have to answer a hundred children’s question about other things, but after the film, they’ll know what love is and they’ll have role models in you.

Your film won’t be a VHS-video on 120 minutes of shaky footage, without musik going on and on. No, it will be a professional recording, like a short Hollywood film about you and your story. It’s cut to fitting musik, showing the best parts in a way that makes anyone that know you spellbound. It’s a film you will want to watch over and over again, with eventual children and grandchildren, on your anniversary and during times when life is rough and you want to remind yourself what life is about. This is your love story. The only film about you and it will through you back in time whenever you watch it.

Summer of 2019 it was finally time for Jocke & Catrine to say yes in a small chapel near Grebbestad. It was the third attempt after struggling with sickness within the family. The photographer Annie was a childhood friend of the bride. It might have been the rainiest day of the summer, but it was still magically emotional.

It’s shout not be a highlight or a summary.

Many wedding videos out there shows random footage from the day, in no order. They are mostly pretty pictures shown to some music. That might be OK to watch if you just want to show off your filming skills, but that is not a video you can show your grandkids to let them understand what love is. Our focus is on telling your story, either your love story or the story of the day unfolding. It should be chronological and show the best moments from the early morning until late night, depending on your wishes.

  •  Are you afraid of a long video that goes on and on? Don’t. We’ll cut it to the tempo that fits your wedding, and as a professional video editor Adam has many years experience of how to keep the film interesting by cutting at the right time and place.

  • Sometimes many couples doesn’t really see what’s going on among the guests. If you like to include a lot of the candid moments from the day, let us know if there are any special guests or family members in the crowd! We will keep an extra eye on them and capture fun moments to remember!

  • Every couple has a story, and some stories are vital to record. If your story is special, let’s do an interview the day before, and use some soundbites in the final video. Dare to tell your story. It’s never as simple as you might try to make it sound. No one “just met”. Even if your story might be commun, there are elements unique to you!

The videos below were recorded between 2016-2017 and since then, we have expanded with better gear to enhance the quality. You can now get drone shots and stabilizing, for example. This means that the videos made today technically are of higher quality, but wedding videography isn’t about the gear. It’s about the feeling, being in the moment. Out videos are cut by Adam, educated video editor and filmmaker working full time as such and as a lecturer within Storytelling. Look at the videos here as inspiration, but know that your own film will feel like it has an entire new dimension. You will relate to it more than anything you’ve even seen.

Joverth & Carma 2016.
Short vesrion of a 6 hour filming.

Swedish Joverth met his now wife Carma-Lisa in Santa Barbara, USA, and married on a boat among close family and friends. Annie was their photographer and Adam filmed it as his first wedding. Adam cut the wedding in two versions, one shorter (about 10 minutes) and one long, only for family (about 20 minutes).

Heather & Kyle 2016.

What chapter do you want to include?

We recommend you to choose the amount of hours based on which chapters you like to include in your film. Your schedule and your chapters will make it easier to count how many hours you will need during the wedding day. In the price editing time, licensed music and color correction is included. Most of the time making your movie is done post wedding and the more hours, the more material to go through and edit, but the better the video! The chapters are:

“Getting ready”

While you get your hair and make up done, we might hear the story of how you met, or how you felt in that moment.

The hair is to be done, the tie has to be tied. It’s such a nice time of nerves and flutter with friends or family! This part of the movie builds up the video and is a good place to start to tell your story so anyone, even those who might not know you, thinks they know you!

“First Look”

You are done. You are dressed. You will meet each other for the very first time, a short while before the ceremony. You will get a moment to settle some of the butterflies in your belly and maybe shed a few tears while there is still time to adjust the make up!

You have spend the night and morning in separate places to make yourself as fine looking as possible. To get to meet before the ceremony is an indescribable experience. It makes it possible for many to take it all in, to be able to be in the moment. First Look is an american tradition which has spread wide around the world and it is great for both photos, video and most of all — for your experience!

“Beauties”

After your “First Look” you might take some photos, but often couples divides the portraits into two sessions, one short after the first look at the location, and one after the ceremony at a pretty place. If might be right after the ceremony or during the dinner. We want to capture a few on video too, it is very important to get maybe 20 minutes or half an hour sometime during the day.

“Ceremoni”

It’s time! The moment you’ve been waiting for, dreaming of! It is time to say yes. Will it be a traditional, cultural wedding? A religious ceremony? Or a simple ceremony spices with poems? Are you giving each other any wovs?

“Spices during the Ceremony”

Katja & Kaj, for example, has a friend sing during their wedding. She had the voice of a nightingale! In reality, everyone just sat there and listened for three minutes. But we chose to use the song as the soundtrack for their ceremony. In this case the couple has a company making sure the sound was great using professional gear, and we could just plug our gear into theirs. If you don’t hire a professional for your sound, it might cost extra to record live music, since we might have to bring more gear and put time away to set it up.

“Exit and Hugging feast”

You made it! You are now married! Congratulation! Now you’ll exit the spot — exit the church to your guest while they blow bubbles or throw rose petals in the air around you. Then it’s time to great everyone, hug your guests and mingle around a while before it’s time for family photos or to set off to the venue and the real party!

“Bridal toast”

In Sweden there is the tradition of a Bridal Toast when the happy couple arrives to the party (after being on their photoshoot or traveling to the party by some fancy vehicle). You are doing a Grand entrance — walking in, arriving on a horse or in some other fun fashion — after which someone will make a toast for the newlyweds. Usually there will be some mingling here before everyone enters the party venue. But if you are doing it the american way, your guest will be waiting at their tables and you will do your entrance into the grand room. Maybe right into a first dance, or starting off with cake cutting.

“Party all night”

Amazing food, good company, happiness. A party can rarely be any better than your wedding day will be! The toasting begins, and if you want them filmed full length, we need to know that ahead of time and plan to set up. Usually we record enough to be able to use the best parts. You will cut the cake, do your first dance, maybe play games. Maybe you will end (at least the film or photography) with a sparkler exit or something similar!

Patrik & Hanna 2017

Patrik & Hanna said yes in Visby Domkyrka, a stunning cathedral in Visby, but very, very dark. It was a small and intimate wedding and the party was held on Yoda at the harbour. Annie was shooting another wedding that day, but Adam grabbed his extra camera and filmed his childhood friend getting married to the women of his dreams.

What’s different?

I‘ve heard wedding videographers promise you “an highlight video friends and family can stand to watch“…

When I, as a filmmaker, hear that I get very frustrated. If your friends and family has a problem watching a film about you, you either have very awful people around you or the movie is poorly made. Your film should grab their attention and keep them spellbound — especially if they were there! The entire point with a movie — no matter if it’s a wedding film or a Hollywood Drama — is to make anyone want to watch it until the end.

It takes me around 4 weeks to edit a 50 minute episode for Discovery Channel. Your film will usually be less than 40 minutes long. Most films are about 10. It takes almost the same amount of time, but it will be a real story, a cohesive video to enjoy with friends and family. Not a torture tool.

  • I can focus under extreme pressure — Weddings is a very small part of what I do. When I filmed the documentary serie “Jägarsoldat”, I was out filming for 6 days and nights in a row, with minimal sleep. When I walked by their side I asked myself: “what do I need to capture so their story will be told realistically and well?“. I wanted to show what they were experiencing since I had no big team, I filmed almost all of it myself. I needed to stay focused no matter the lack of sleep.

  • The video is elevated by it’s music — I have edited many videos and it’s vital to find music that elevates it. I’ve got access to a library of licensed music and I use it to make sure the feelings from your day really shines through. You can’t just use a song from Youtube. Music has to be licensed. I love when there is music during the wedding we can record and use — it makes it extra special and personal to you! No matter what, you should be able to publish your video anywhere without being afraid to get sued or having it taken down due to legal issues.

Do you want to see a Gotlandic wedding right out of a fairytale? The sun was shining and it was very, very hot! The ceremony was held in the epic ruin of St: Nicolais in Visby.

Katja & Kaj — 4h filming — 2 videographers. With two people filming you get almost the double amount of material and many more options in the video!

Do you rather want to see a wedding at the West Coast of Sweden among cliffs and rain drops? An emotional journey. Driven by an intervju made the day before.

Catrine & Joakim — 12h — 1 videographer. With one person filming I will be more invisible to the guests during the day, so if it’s a small wedding it will be more practical. It gives me fewer options in post-production, however, but it can make for a great film nevertheless.

Pricing & Packages

How much? — Imagine you want to record a real, professional film. How much would that be? You would have needed at least 1-4 camera men, other staff assisting them, a few lighting experts and electricians, a director, DP and… yeah, you’ve got it. There is an entire team, often dozens of people working with the filming. And afterwards too, each specialized in different things. But your wedding film will be done by me alone (well, together with my spouse Annie). I have an education in filming, editing, color correction as well as lighting and directing. You are saving millions in hiring one person to do the work of an entire team. But it will still be invaluable to you.

With us you get more than a “highlight film“ in a few minutes. We will give you a film about you and your story. Yes, you can have a super short version too. But it won’t be to satisfy friends, but to show them briefly and keep the real video to yourself if you like. Made by a very small but passionate team to a very low cost. If you still want that highlight film without story, let me know and I can recommend some videographers to you.

Recording of sound during the Ceremony
Do you want to use the officiants speech in your video, or do you have personal vows that needs to be captured? Depending on how and when you get married our gera might not be enough. If it’s on a beach, for example, you might need to hire a company with a microphone so that the guests and the camera can hear you over the sound of the wind and waves. We will have microphones on the camera, but if you have something important to record we might need to bring and set up extra gear, which takes time. If we can plug into your equipment we won’t charge anything extra! Let us know what audio company you will use and we will sort out what we need.

1500 SEK

Recording of speeches and toasts
During the dinner many loved ones loves to give a speech. They are usually wonderful, but sometimes… you don’t want the entire speech recorded. We will record all the speeches given during the time we are present, but not with a stationary camera. In the final film we’ll use the best bits and pieces. I strongly advise you to ask someone to film them with a phone if you want the entire speech, but if you want us to do it, we’ll bring an extra camera and gear. We will need to know who, when and where the speeches will be given. The speeches will be delivered in a separate file.

2500 SEK

Drone
Filming with a drone is getting more and more popular, but it’s not possible at all spots. We need to get permission to take off depending on where you get married, and it takes time to set up. Mostly we hire a separate person to fly the drone, so we can focus on you and your guests. Who doesn’t want to see a new angle of their love story?

1000 SEK/h + travel costs

Special music
Due to copyright laws, it’s not legal to use recorded music freely. At Any Moment Productions we have access to a library of licensed music which is included in our services to no extra costs. Do you have a LIVE band playing? Or will someone sing? Such things are always fun to include, if possible. The quality of music recorded LIVE can never be guaranteed, but depending in your sound equipment we can do a good job. If you have music already with license, we can use it in the video. Let us know if there is any special entertainment during the wedding! Will anyone perform? We need to have the right equipment and to be able to set up in good time if we are to record sound.

We can help you record a song after or before the wedding, or you can send us music to use if you have the permission.

If any special moments or events are happening, I need to know them in forehand to have the best chance to get them all. I also want to know who is important to you or if there are circumstances I need to be aware of. If there are any special wishes they need to be planned into the schedule. I will scout the location the day before the wedding to be sure I am aware of how the light falls and what the spots looks like at the time of the wedding. During the wedding I will then know exactly what to do and where no matter the weather.

Meeting
I want to meet you when booking and hear more about you and your wedding! I am based on Gotland and if you live far away, we can either meet on Skype or Facetime. It’s good for all all to get to know each other a little! It’s important you can relax with me/us during the wedding and the more we’ve met or talked, the more relaxed you’ll be.

Editing & Delivery
Editing is done prior to delivery and if there is anything you do not like, you need to let us know within a week of delivery. We will make changes up to 3 times. The video will be color corrected, which means the coloring will look natural. The video will be delivered online through a link for you to download.

I will keep a copy of your files for 1 (one) year and after that you are responsible for keeping a backup. I strongly suggest you to keep them in at least 3 places, on clouds, computers, hard drives and printed out. Share them. The more spread, the safer they are from fires or computer failures!
